What is BTU?
BTU stands for British Thermal Unit. It is used to measure how much many BTUs per hour can the aircon remove heat from the air.
If the BTU is not measured correctly, it will not reach the desired temperature as the BTU rating is either too low or too high for the size of the room. This will determine whether the air conditioning unit is working at its highest efficiency.

Energy Efficiency Ratio
A room air conditioner’s efficiency is measured by the energy efficiency ratio (EER). The EER is the ratio of the cooling capacity (in BTU per hour) to the power input (in watts). The higher the EER rating, the more efficient the air conditioner.

Inverter vs Non-Inverter
An inverter air conditioner controls the speed of the compressor motor to drive variable refrigerant flow in an air conditioning system so as to regulate the temperature. Whilst non-inverter air conditioner regulates temperature by using the compressor periodically either working at maximum capacity or switched off entirely.
How it works?
The principle is much like driving a car. It more comfortable to drive a car when there is no need to repeat start-and-stop operations.
Using an inverter provides the same effect in air conditioners. When an air conditioner starts up, the inverter sets it in full-power operation to quickly bring the room temperature to the set temperature. Once the set temperature is reached, the inverter maintains efficient operation to minimise the change in the room temperature. This prevents wasteful consumption of electricity and keeps the room temperature at a comfortable level.

Benefit 1 – Energy Saving
Inverter air conditioner offers an impressive 50% reduction in electricity consumption by regulating compressor speed to deliver just the right amount of cooling power without compromising comfort. It makes a big difference when using for extended periods of time.

Benefit 2 – Constant Comfort
Precise temperature control with a wide power output range enables an inverter air conditioner to meet different room occupancy levels – thus ensuring contant comfort.

Benefit 3 – Quick Comfort
Inverter air conditioner can operate with higher power during the start up period to cool the room faster than non-inverter model.
